Mamá Luca

Our
story

Ketty Avila
Founder and owner
What originally emerged from a need to feed her infant son in a healthy yet affordable manner, Mamá Luca has now become a major source of sustenance for her family. Mamá Luca is the venture that Ketty Avila started about 15 years ago.
A flour made from soy, quinoa, barley and oats, this blend is a source of protein and vitamins that, with the passage of time has become a staple in it's originating town of Gualaquiza, Ecuador, and which is now becoming more popular outside of the country's borders.

The position of Ketty Avila is the head of the entrepreneurial group in Gualaquiza, where curiously a large part of them are run by women - heads of household. She believes that these ventures arose in part because of the needs they identified as being inside the home.
Ketty believes that the key to entrepreneurship is to trust oneself, innovate, and create useful products or services for people, as in your case I am looking for a healthy alternative to feed your family.
